I was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in Northern Virginia. I attended George Washington and George Mason Universities, earning a B.A. in Journalism in 1992. During my early career, I worked in Public Relations for private corporations and government agencies, and wrote a regular column for the Fairfax Journal and served as Features Editor for the Prince William Junction. After the publication of my first book in 1998, I became a full-time freelance writer and my articles and photos have appeared in over 50 publications ranging from Good Housekeeping to Liguorian. I have also done screenwriting and have written for a variety of websites.
